Frequently Asked Questions

Many parents have the same questions about music but you have any more, I will be only too happy to answer them if you email me at frances@musicaliti.co.uk or ring 01204 595 680.

Q: When is the best time to introduce children to music?
A: '9 months before the mother was born' is a famous musician's response to this common question, which means, the earlier, the better.  Babies have been found to recognise often-played music from the womb and with everyday encouragement, this develops naturally into keeping a beat, keeping a rhythm and singing in tune.

Q: How much does each session cost?
A: On average, a parent-child session can cost £4.50 per child with the exception of promotional discounts, and group sessions cost £30 per session.

Q: Why music for babies?
A: With the development of advanced scanning, research shows that babies are able to recognise many intricate details within music.  If they keep listening to different types of music, basic thinking patterns start to develop in preparation for many advanced skills that we use as adults, like planning, following direction, creativity and even self-confidence.

Q: Why weekly sessions?
A: Weekly sessions allow for consistency, encourage routine and develop social interaction, which is just as important as the session content as developing as a group encourages teamwork in a loving, nurturing setting.
